UVA Board Announces New Procedures for Grant Awards
Examples of grants dispersed via Upper Valley Arts.

At the UVA’s 2002 March Board meeting new procedures for accepting grant proposals were approved.

The UVA grant program is available to individuals or organizations that are current members of UVA, and to schools and their students. Proposals must meet the criteria of the UVA’s Mission Statement; “ Upper Valley Arts envisions a vibrant sustainable arts environment and cultivates diverse arts experiences for all residents and visitors to the Upper Wenatchee Valley through: Coordinating, Funding, Promoting, and Communication”. Starting immediately, UVA will fund grants on a biannual basis. It is advisable that applicants submit their request a minimum of 60 days prior to the start of a project or program for which funds are being sought. The deadlines are June 1 and December 1 and proposals must be postmarked on or before those dates to be accepted for review by the Grant Sub-Committee. All applicants will be notified of the Board’s decision no more than 45 days after the deadline dates.

The grant application process has been redesigned to assist the potential grantee to give complete information. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed and returned to the applicant. A second component has been added to the procedure so that UVA can better assist organizations or individuals in the future. All grantees will be required to provide written feedback information within 30 days of completion of the project. To request an application, write to The Grants Committee, Upper Valley Arts, PO Box 754, Leavenworth, WA 98826, or click Application Form.
