Learn the art of creating faces for theatrical presentation using techniques for age, fantasy characters and special effects with a variety of makeup materials.

Jan Johnston has been involved in theater for 40 years. She has taught beginning and advanced Stage Makeup classes at several universities, including makeup classes for the graduate acting students in the University of Washington's Professional Actor Training Program. She has worked professionally in theater, opera, and dance and was lead makeup artist for 6 years at Pacific Northwest Ballet.
 
Here's a blurb with info about what students will learn in the class:
 
Students will learn basic makeup principles, techniques, and tricks to create artistic and convincing makeup designs and application. Subjects covered will be- makeup materials and their use, basic concepts of shadow and highlight, color and texture. Techniques for aging, fantasy characters, historical and celebrity likenesses, and special effects such as wounds, scars, facial hair will be covered. Students will create their own unique makeup deisgns and bring them to life.
